Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the chance to meet several Houston artists who are doing some amazing things. It’s encouraging to see so much creativity thriving across our city, especially from independent artists who continue to make music and create their own opportunities.
But great music needs listeners.
If you discover a Houston artist you like, support them. Go to their shows. Stream their music. Follow them on social media. Share a song with a friend. Those small actions can make a real difference for an independent artist trying to build a career.
At Mocha Man Music, we want to keep discovering, supporting, and connecting with the people making Houston’s music scene stronger.

Welcome Roxé to Mocha Man Music
Roxé is a Houston-based, multi-genre vocalist whose music moves comfortably across pop, rock, R&B, and Latin influences. Her versatility and distinctive voice immediately caught our attention, but what really stood out was her commitment to growing as an artist and connecting with audiences.
If you attended our Make Music Day Showcase, you may have already seen Roxé perform. Now, we’re looking forward to supporting her as she moves into the next stage of her career.
Roxé will be performing at Live on the Plaza at City Centre on Friday, September 18th, from 7 pm to 10 pm and at Memorial Green on Thursday, September 24th, from 5 pm to 8 pm.
The Soul Sessions
The Soul Sessions brought together live music, a great DJ, and a room full of people who came to enjoy good music and company.
Brandon J. Marks and DJ Alkemy took us through R&B and soul from the ’80s through today, moving between live performances and DJ sets throughout the evening at The Gite Gallery.
One of the best parts of the night was watching people connect. They sang along, met new people, and simply enjoyed being in a room where the music was the focus.
